When I first start personal training (PT) sessions with Rizam, I never expect the kind of results that I have achieved. I was skeptical that I would ever reach close to my former size, or even become leaner than that. But I have been proved wrong.

The personal training sessions with Rizam were conducted very professionally, yet it had an element of fun in it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the PT sessions with Rizam. Besides knowing when to push me to lift heavier weights or do more repetitions, Rizam was a great motivating force. With him, I was able to reach greater heights.

I have absolutely no regrets in my decision to invest in personal training. It has helped me loose the unnecessary pounds and I have gained a healthier appearance and a more positive outlook. In fact, I feel like a Brand New Man!

Here is my FAT picture and a letter about how fabulous you are. But you already know that you are fabulous and so I guess this letter is really for someone who might be thinking about signing up for personal training and is wondering whether or not to believe all you people who go on and on about results and weight loss and all that.

Well, I have been training for almost ten months and in addition to losing weights and gaining muscle, I have had a blast. Strength training is such an important part of fitness, but it's so hard to know what to do and how much to do and how to avoid injury. So if you are really ready to do something nice for yourself and great for your body, just say YES to personal training and make sure you do it with Rizam (because he is the coolest and if you train with him, then everyone will think you are really cool too !)

I was the biggest skeptic and had to make a scene in the PT office before Augustine made me chill out and talked me into trying a few sessions with Rizam. I guess being a crazy outspoken ex-pat chick has it's advantages, because now (see After photo), I look a whole lot better than I did that fateful day when I got grumpy with the Fun Fit staff.

So, if you're like I was, reading these testimonials and thinking that maybe you'll give it a try - Do it! And if Mr. Popularity can't fit you into his schedule, the other trainers seem very nice and their clients all look great too. (But Rizam really is the best and he changes his chair color a lot so if you need extra motivation to get you to the gym on those rainy days, that might help, plus he gets mad if you cancel so you have to show up).

And Rizam, thanks for everything (except for pinching my fat with that terrible little machine that you guys have back there). You are a fabulous trainer and a great person and without you, I 'd still be wobbling around with my arm fat jiggling everywhere (See Before photo).

Firstly I would like to say a very big thanks to you for the things I've learnt from you. To show you my appreciation, I decide to write this crucial thanks letter for you. I think it is very necessary to put it into your portfolio. I would like people to read about my process on building up my body...

... under your intensive contract. Without you, it would be impossible for me to achieve anything even a slight change on myself. I think I would have quitted long ago if I didn't sign your contract.

Rizam's training is a tough one but it's worth it. It worked so well 'til I was able to see that I was growing from a tiny weak needle to be a stronger metal stick. I wasn't only physically being enhanced but also mentally stronger.

For me to sign a contract with Rizam is absolutely a challenge. His strictness that pushed me to work harder and perform better was the best part during the training. During the training, he challenged me physically and mentally, increasing me endurance and strength.

Having been through every single training session with Rizam is not only gaining my muscle weight but the knowledge that I learnt from him is incredible. This guy has his own way of training just like his own secret recipe. I do everything according to what he taught, in the end I got the result that I'm pretty satisfied with.

Rizam, you are a phenomenal trainer. Absolutely professional. I had a great time being through your trainer. I enjoyed it a lot and really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

Michelle: Do you remember? Last year when we signed up for personal training (PT)?

Daphne: Yes. I think your ass was about the size of an executive condominium and mine was about a 5 room HDB flat. Let me see how heavy you were.... I think you were 68kg and I was 56kg. Our fats were sure "jiggling with it"!

Michelle: Hmmm.. those were the days, Thank goodness we had Rizam, He was so serious about PT that I thought I was going to hate myself for signing up with him.

Daphne: But look at you now, if it wasn't because we signed up with him, I would have upgraded to an executive condominium and you would be a bungalow.

Michelle: Yup, Rizam certainly did a good job by guiding us through a rigorous workout schedule. He made it compulsory for us to turn up at the gym at 6am to do our cardio exercise before "reporting for duty" at the PT counter at 7am. Our parents even placed bets that we wouldn't sustain our regime for more than 2 months.

Daphne: I sure remember how hard it was for us to do that But he went through our goals with us and guided us through our lifestyle change. He instilled discipline into our lives by having regular thrice-weekly sessions with him. It was terrible! You had so much problems getting up. I had to give you morning calls.

Michelle: Yeah... but that was the point of doing the duo training PT sessions. So that we could be in this agony together! When we first started our arms and legs were so 'shocked' by the intensity that we had so much difficulty shampooing our hair or walking property after our PT sessions.

Daphne: Do you also remember the excuses you gave to Rizam to avoid pushing weights? You would tell him that your arms hurt, or your legs were giving way…that kind of rubbish!

Michelle: Guilty as charged. I wasn't focused and was unable to get myself into the 'zone'. I kept telling myself that I couldn't do it, It's a good thin that Rizam knew that with the amount of energy I used to complain; I would definitely have enough energy to push more reps and heavier weights.

Daphne: Rizam was always the professional. He knew how much to push us and where our limits were. He was that good. He realty meant it when he said that he took our training seriously.

Michelle: Good point. What I like about having Rizam as our trainer was that he dispensed the advice at the right time. Meaning, he waited until we were ready far the next level of fitness, then gave us more health tips to work on.

Daphne: I cannot agree more. I recall that time when he even told us not to waste his time by eating 'unhealthy' food. I had seen how much we were improving that I made the effort to eat healthily by cutting down on fatty foods like ice cream, cakes and fried foods.

Michelle: Now we have reached a point where we understand that losing weight is not about deprivation, It's all about balance. That's one of the "Rizam-mantras". You know, it is a good thing he gave us guidelines rather than to force 'diet rules' down our throats. Otherwise, it wouldn't have worked for me (and you).

Daphne: With the results we produced together, we practically lost (in terms of fats) more than we expected.

Michelle: Yeah... I lost about 13kgs and you lost about 9kgs in a span of one year. He made us shrink so much that we had to change our entire wardrobe, Even my gym shorts look like parachute pants on me, It is embarrassing how I have to keep pulling my shorts or pants up all the time!

Daphne: For my case, it wasn't so much of losing weight, it was about getting a better physique as well as building my strength and stamina.

Michelle: And I can finally see my toes when I look down!!! By the way, I've also been stripped of my title of "MC (Medical Certificate) Queen". Even when I do fall prey to the flu virus, I recover much faster then before! You know, PT with Rizam certainly is in time with California Fitness Centre's tag line "Changing Lives Through Fitness". It is certainly more worth it to invest In our health than to move into our later years with all kinds of health problems. THAT would be more expensive.

Daphne: Yeah, And it doesn't mean that we have to be an PT all the time. Once we are familiar with the machines and cant do our own workouts In a safe manner, we can always have regular maintenance sessions to change our program. By the way, aren't we supposed to write Rizam a testimonial?

Michelle: Oh...yes. One day, Daphne, I will get down to it.

My name is Christopher Goh and I have been training under Rizam for almost a year now.

When I first joined California Fitness, I had intention to build up my muscles, but had no ideas how to do it properly or what supplements to take. After careful observation of trainers there, I finally chose Rizam as my Personal Trainer.

He is patient and knows exactly how much to push me above my limits. He chooses the right training program for the right objective targets. He knows exactly what will work for you and won't. He is able to achieve this because he treats all his trainees with a personal touch and is always willing to go that extra mile for them. Just after one contract, I was beginning to see results and after the second contract, I was beginning to see muscles that I never saw in my life!

Today, I am on fifth contract with him and because of his abilities and expertise, I will carry on training under him because he produces results! I am one of his living proofs. I feel more confident in my life now, thanks to Rizam.
